Glamis Castle is only 15 minutes from Ruthven Falls and shouldn’t be missed, while the area’s galleries and museums offer a unique and immersive experience of times past. Golf
Scotland is world renowned as the home of golf and our envious location, Perthshire and Angus boasts over 100 courses within an easy 45 minute drive. There are a mixture of the finest championship, links and parkland courses to choose from when based at Ruthven Falls. Many courses are world renowned, such as Rosemount, Carnoustie, Gleneagles and St Andrews. And right on the doorstep, we have Alyth, Kirriemuir and Strathmore golf courses all within 10 minutes’ drive.
Nature and Wildlife
If you love nature and wildlife, then Ruthven Falls will be your ideal place. Next to the development is the famed River Isla which has seen trout, salmon and grayling along with the odd otter and beaver making this their home. Along the rugged Angus coastline, you can spot ospreys, razorbills, seals and dolphins, and when heading into the hills there are stags, pheasants, red kites, red squirrels and grouse. You could also be lucky enough to spot golden eagles, wildcats, mountain hares and pine martins in the Cairngorm Mountains. Perthshire is also known as Big Tree Country, including more champion trees than anywhere else in the UK and more than 200,000 acres of woodlands to explore.
Food and Drink
Perthshire and Angus has an excellent reputation for the best of food and drink. From top restaurants to charming coffee shops, farm shops to specialist food stores, and distilleries producing wines, beers, gins and whisky, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
